My mum was a senior manager in the Royal Mint when I was growing up, married at 18, two children by the age of 22. I remember her working full-time, combining work with marriage and bringing up myself and my sister. She studied during evenings and weekends for 7 years and she achieved her degree, and promotions, with pure determination and hard work (and the support of an amazing husband!). She was the first person in her family to EVER get a degree and, as a result, she set the standard for future generations - my sister and I both went on to achieve degrees and post-graduate qualifications, I hope that my daughter follows suit in the future (if this is what she chooses). On this International Women's Day, remember that you hold the key to your own success (whatever success means to you) - never stop learning and being authentic, follow your dreams and work hard, be inspirational and take inspiration from others. "Don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle" Happy International Women's Day to you all, wishing you your own version of success in the coming year!
